Hashtags are not as helpful as they used to be. They help Instagram categorize your content and can occasionally surface it in searches on the platform, but they aren't a major growth lever. My recommendation now is to just select five based on relevance. No need to do any competitive research.
I also don't recommend adding hashtags to bios because they won't change discoverability (Instagram can read what's in your bio anyway) and they can cause people to click away from your bio.
