AI assistants can now read your Substack data, and for the first time, an outside tool has Substack's blessing to schedule your Notes. Two firsts for a notoriously closed platform.
Good info Casandra! Thanks for covering this front, I myself didn't know anything about the Substack MCP Server.
*Not many people know that one can obtain the same benefits of accessing all of the key Substack publication and performance data and querying them through an AI like Claude by using Finn Tropy StackContacts app, without needing to be a Premium Publisher.
Thanks, Robin! There are a few unofficial tools like that, but they typically work by using your logged-in Substack session to pull data in ways that likely go against Substack's terms, so I'm personally not comfortable recommending them. The risk is low, but not worth it for me. I still remember when Instagram didn't support many integrations, and people got their accounts banned all the time for using workaround tools 😅
Fair enough. I just wanted to let others know that there are other options, and that they do work. I have personally not heard of anyone I know having had this type of issue, but it is right that you did point it out. Thank you.
Thanks, Cassandra. Of course, Buffer now has a Substack integration although it's fairly basic and just for notes. Just FYI.
Yay! I had a feeling they would be next!
All of this is great news. Very excited to start using Typefully for notes - it’s a much better experience than substacks built-in scheduling
For sure, it’s much better for planning too!

That said, these are the kinds of tools I would love to see get supported through an official API!
